President Elect Barrack Obama

Politic:

Well the race is fin. The American people have spoken in one big voice and the sound was in unison, CHANGE! Barrack Obama will be the first African American to hold the highest position in our country. President Elect Obama will be sworn in the office on January 9, 2009 and in his acceptance speak he reminded the American people this change we all so eagerly want is here, but it will take time. Obama's win was a landslide defeating Senator John Mccain 349 electoral votes to 163. No doubt this was a historical moment for every African American, but it was also worldwide evidence that the American people have evolved. The irony in this whole historical event is that in this hour of nationally recognized maturity, the young voter were more active than they every had been in history. Congratulation President Obama.

Score One for The Home Team

Politics:

Debate Night ended with a aggressive performance by Republican candidate, John Mccain, going on the offense toward Democrat's, Barrack Obama. Mccain air out several controversial subject such as Obama's William Ayers relationship, his ACORN affiliation, Obama's track record in the Senate, and other topics that separate the candidate's views. Although this was Mccain's best debate performance, Obama managed to hold a poised and persistence debate while he repeated his plans for the American public and the economy. Mccain was also more detailed than the last two debates, but according to some post debate polls, wasn't as convincing to independent voters as needed. 57% felt that Obama would make a better President, while 39% favored Mccain. There's still 19 days left till election, so it's still anyone's race.

Debate Night on CNN

Politics:

CNN will host the last Presidential Debate before the stretch to the White House. Democrat nominee Barrack Obama leads Republican candidate John Mccain in national polls by nearly a double digit margin according to some polls. Although it's still anyone's race, political analysis say that this could be John Mccain's last opportunity to appeal to swing democratic and independent voters on a mass scale. The Obama campaign as been out spending Mccain in advertising dollars as much as 4 to 1 in some toss up states, and analysis say this could be a vital variable as well as the economic in bringing Obama the election and the seat in the White House.

History in the Making

Current Events:

Wow, There's a whole lot that have taken place this week. The biggest would be history's first African American to ever lead a major party Presidential ticket, Barack Obama-Joe Biden for the democrats. Obama-Biden filled the Invesco Stadium in Denver, Colorado with over 80,000 people at the largest ever Democratic Convention ending Thursday night with Obama acceptance speech.

During the week Obama was endorsed by both Bill and former rival Hillary Clinton, former Vice President Al Gore, potential first lady Michelle Obama, and a host of other honorable guest. This historical event was said to the most emotional and impacting political event to ever take place in the history of our nation's government.

Also republican candidate John Mccain has selected his VP running partner. 44 year old Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska. Media has describe her as a female younger version of John Mccain because of her conservative views.

There is speculation that by this selection Mccain is attempting to recover female voter who boosted Hillary to given Obama a run for his money. However, this isn't as odd as it may seem as it only plays on Mccain's reputation as being the maverick of the republican party.

Take Back Law in Texas effective Sept. 1st

Business:

After September the 1st computer stores and outlets in Texas will be require by law to provide free take back programs for items such as desktop and laptop computers, monitors, keyboards, and peripherals. The law only applies to personal and home based business purchases. Educational and large businesses are not included in the laws requirements, so the retailer has the right to refuse such returns.

Manufacturers have the right to limited their programs to their own brands, also retailers have the right to conduct their programs in what way they choose. Hopefully someone will offer some cash incentives to the returner, but again the law only states that the return programs must be free to the consumers.

Boxing versus Business

Business:

A good business deal is like a good boxing match. The only thing missing is the bell and the ticket sales. Whether it's a person or company being represented, both parties first get themselves in the best condition possible in the attempt to last however long the fight will.

Business plans, number crunching, gross and net profit reports are all apart of the training process. The next step is to introduce yourself to your soon to be counterpart who’s probably already watching you from a far off.
If the challenge is accepted legalities are handled and the PR and press conferences are held. Everybody gets excited and we may even see the two parties shake hands. Although in business, deals are referred to as joint ventures or partnerships; the minute the match starts so does the fighting. Frustration, fatigue, low blows, and anything else you can image takes place. The match last for a certain amount time and then it's over.

If both parties are lucky hopefully they make money and live to fight another day. Now if there’s any business owner reading, can I get amen brother?!
